GALLERY WRAP EDGE CHOICES

Art Exhibits Marketing Gallery Wraps come in a variety of edges depending upon the final impact you're looking for. Here are some basic choices with an explanation of what they are and when they would be used.

Canvas Stretch Frame Depth Sizes we Offer

Museum Wrap for 3/4" frame depth: add 1" extra to all four sides for a total of 2" to the final image size. For example a 16 x 20 image will need a file size of 18 x 22. Keep in mind that 3/4" of the 1" is going to be wrapped on the edge of the frame so make sure there is nothing important that will be wrapping around an edge.
Museum Wrap for 1 1/2" frame depth: add 2" extra to all four sides for a total of 4" to the final image size. For example a 16 x 20 image will need a file size of 20 x 24. Keep in mind that 1 1/2" of the 2" is going to be wrapped on the edge of the frame so make sure there is nothing important that will be wrapped around an edge.
Museum Wrap for 2 1/2" frame depth: add 3" extra to all four sides for a total of 6" to the final image size. For example a 16 x 20 image will need a file size of 22 x 26. Keep in mind that 2 1/2" of the 3" is going to be wrapped on the edge of the frame so make sure there is nothing important that will be wrapped around an edge.

**If you would like to do it yourself, please go to our How to set up your image files page.**

Museum Wrap: the image wraps all the way around the edges. The image is printed larger then the frame size so that it can be wrapped around all four sides of the frame. This is the most popular look for canvas stretched prints.

There are several ways that this can be achieved

Generate a Mirror Image for the Edge Wrap: We can generate a mirror image for the edge wrap (most popular method), a digital blur of the edges, or create an extension of the image on all four sides. If you would like Art Exhibits Marketing to create the additional image area needed to make a Museum Wrap, we do charge for that service and it is a flat fee of $25.00. We will also let you proof it before we start the printing process.

Edge Color Wrap: the image is printed the full size of the frame and a complimentary solid color is added to the edge. There is a soft blend between the solid color and the image for a beautiful finished appearance. You have a choice of picking the edge color or allowing us to pick a color that compliments your image. There is no additional charge for us to create a solid edge color.

Frame Wrap: the image only covers the frame size with a slight 1/8" overlap on the edges, the remainder of the canvas is white. This would be used when the canvas is going to be framed. Because the canvas is being dropped into a frame only the 3/4" frame depth is recommended. At this time we only supply the gallery wrap. If you’re looking for a frame check out www.framefit.com.
