Art Exhibits Marketing Digitally Capturing Artwork

Art Exhibits Marketing digitally captures the artist originals. We have broken it up into three price structures below. The cost includes color correcting and file retouching to create the highest quality image for reproduction.

The prices below include the first 2 proofs. The proofs are 8x10 to see the whole print, and a strip of the finished print size to let the artist see how it will look on the medium he/she has chosen. The below prices also include putting the digital capture image on CD or DVD.

If the proofing process takes longer and passes the first 2, additional charges will be $8.00 a proof session. This will cover both the 8x10 and the strip. If we have the original, additional proofs are generally not required.

If the original is really large, and the artist is not local, we recommend the artist get them photographed or scanned locally. Shipping a large original would not be cost effective, and the piece could get damaged in shipping. Try checking out our Helping Artist’s page. It has a PDFs on how to photograph their own artwork. If need assistance, please contact us, and we will be happy to help.

If you do send us the original, please follow these steps.

  1. Contact us before you ship the original.
  2. Make sure the painting is fully dry.
  3. Make sure the artwork is unframed.
  4. Go to Art Exhibiting Marketing’s Guide to Shipping your Artwork page. This will give you information on how to ship your artwork.
  5. Make sure you pay for shipping to us and also for returning it to you.
  6. Very important to buy insurance that will cover both trips.

Artists that don't want to ship Art Exhibits Marketing their originals.

Having the artist's original close at hand is the best way to match color and contrast. However, we realize that many artists are reluctant to ship large, original artwork or simply don't want to spend the money. This may increase the time for your prints to be completed, with multiple proofing sessions. For an additional fee, we can
easily accommodate.

If the artist is not shipping their original, we request a color swatch from the artist to get the best color results. The color swatch should consist of the colors that were used in
the original.

Color swatch preparation

Use the same paper or canvas that was used in painting the original. Get a scrap piece and put the color next to each other along a straight line.  This will let us see the colors in their national state, and it will also help us match the colors on the prints to closely reproduce the original.
